Michael J. Russamano, DC
Dr. Mike was born in Davenport, Iowa and raised in Easton, Pennsylvania. He completed his undergraduate degree at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, PA and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. He spent one year in Chicago working with a Certified NUCCA Doctor prior to moving to Charlottesville and opening The Body Balancing Center in 2001.
Dr. Mike is a second generation Chiropractor, although the first in his family to use the NUCCA Procedure. After studying and personally experiencing various chiropractic techniques while in school, Dr. Mike found the NUCCA Procedure offered the best way to accurately measure and correct spinal misalignment in the least amount of time and yet achieve the best and longest-lasting results. Even though he had received chiropractic care since infancy, once he received his initial NUCCA correction and experienced the changes in his own body, he knew this was the procedure he would share and use in his office. Dr. Mike specifically chose to locate his practice in Charlottesville because of the need for NUCCA doctors along the East Coast and for the proximity to extended family, the mountains and the beach.
Since coming to Charlottesville, Dr. Mike has been active in the community, participating in Leadership Charlottesville, the Charlottesville-Albemarle Chamber of Commerce, and the Albemarle County Rotary Club, where he is past President. He has been a member of the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association since 1998. Dr. Mike is Part II Certified in the NUCCA Procedure and is actively pursuing full certification. As a musician, he has played drums for several local bands and serves in multiple ways at the Church of the Incarnation. He has been interviewed on NBC Channel 29, spoken to UVA medical students, addressed numerous groups in town, and published multiple articles in local publications.
Dr. Mike and his wife Chrislyn have four children-Andrew, Sara,Kaylin and Abigail, each under NUCCA care and often present in the office-and a happy little dog, Jaxson. As a family, they enjoy natural living, the outdoors, thought-provoking movies, and traveling.

Chrislyn Russamano
Chrislyn was born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She received her undergraduate degree in Life Sciences from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, VA. She earned her Physician Assistant degree from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, PA and spent four years practicing primary care medicine in Illinois and Iowa.
After moving to Chicago with her husband, she was given the opportunity of working as a Chiropractic Assistant in the same office. This was helpful to prepare for the time when she and Dr. Mike would have their own NUCCA office. Chrislyn held the position of full time Office Coordinator at The Body Balancing Center from 2001 - 2007, when their third child was born. She continues to work part time with Dr. Mike, while homeschooling their children and serving at their church and with a local homeschool co-op. She enjoys reading, writing, the outdoors and travel.
